Cloud Service Terms
These Cloud Service Terms govern Octarq Cloud, the hosted service we operate
at app.octarq.org, provided by Chengdu Jiahejing Technology Co., Ltd.
(成都嘉合靖科技有限公司), Chengdu, Sichuan, China (“we”, “us”). They sit on top of
the Terms of Service and control where the two conflict.
They do not apply to self-hosted installations. If you run Octarq on your own server, none of this page is about you.

1. What we operate, and what that means
Section titled “1. What we operate, and what that means”On Cloud we run the instance, the database, and the infrastructure underneath. Your workspace’s content — short links and their click records, mailboxes and message contents, DNS zones, workspace members, and any AI provider credentials you configure — is stored on our systems. We process it to provide the service and for no other purpose. The Privacy Policy sets out the detail.
2. Acceptable use
Section titled “2. Acceptable use”Cloud sends email and serves redirects from our infrastructure, under our IP reputation and our domains. Abuse by one workspace degrades the service for every other one, so these rules are enforceable, not advisory.
You may not use Cloud to:
- send unsolicited bulk email, or email to addresses you did not collect with consent;
- create short links that lead to phishing, malware, or content impersonating another person or organisation;
- host or distribute malware, or use links or mailboxes to direct people to it;
- disguise the destination of a link in order to defeat a security control or a recipient’s judgement;
- infringe intellectual property rights, or distribute content that is illegal in China or in your own jurisdiction;
- probe, scan, or load-test the service, or attempt to reach data belonging to another workspace;
- resell Cloud capacity as your own hosted product.
Reporting abuse: [email protected]. We investigate reports about links,
mailboxes, and domains hosted on Cloud.
3. Suspension and termination
Section titled “3. Suspension and termination”We may suspend a workspace, or specific links or mailboxes within it, where we reasonably believe this policy has been breached, or where continuing would put the service’s mail deliverability or infrastructure at risk.
- Where the situation allows it, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix it.
- For active phishing, malware distribution, or ongoing spam, we may suspend first and notify you immediately afterwards — the harm is to third parties and is done by the time a warning would arrive.
- Suspension for non-payment follows the dunning process in your billing settings; we will tell you before access is affected.
You may close your account at any time from your workspace settings.
4. Getting your data out, and its deletion
Section titled “4. Getting your data out, and its deletion”Your data is yours and we do not hold it hostage:
- Export. You can export your workspace’s data from within the product at any time while the account is active, including during a suspension for non-payment.
- After termination. We keep your workspace data for 30 days after the account closes, so an accidental closure or a billing mistake is recoverable. You can request an export during that window.
- Deletion. After 30 days the workspace’s data is purged from our production systems. Backups roll off on their own cycle, no later than 90 days after termination. Records we must keep for tax and accounting purposes (invoices, the fact of the transaction) are retained as law requires and are covered in the Privacy Policy.
Purge and export operate per workspace, not per instance — one workspace’s export never includes another’s data.
5. Availability
Section titled “5. Availability”We aim to keep Cloud continuously available, but we do not currently offer a contractual uptime commitment or service credits, and you should not plan around one. Planned maintenance is announced in advance where we can; emergency maintenance may not be.
If that is not good enough for what you are building, self-hosting is a first-class option and the core is MIT-licensed — that is precisely why it exists.
6. Billing, quotas, and usage
Section titled “6. Billing, quotas, and usage”Cloud plans combine a subscription with usage-based charges above the plan’s included allowance. Your current usage, the plan’s allowance, and your spend cap are visible in the product.
- A spend cap you set is a hard stop on usage-based charges, not a target.
- Exceeding a quota affects metering and features, but we do not stop serving your existing short links because a counting quota ran out.
- Refunds are covered by the Refund Policy.
7. AI features
Section titled “7. AI features”AI features on Cloud run on your own model provider credentials. We store those credentials encrypted and scoped to your workspace, and we use them only to make the calls you ask for. We do not mark up inference — your provider bills you directly. On Cloud a budget cap applies to the calls we make on your behalf, so a runaway job cannot silently drain your provider account through us.
We do not use your workspace’s content to train models.
8. Changes
Section titled “8. Changes”We will give notice in the product or by email before material changes to these terms take effect for your account.
9. Governing law
Section titled “9. Governing law”The laws of the People’s Republic of China govern these terms, and the courts of Chengdu, Sichuan have jurisdiction. This does not remove mandatory rights under the consumer protection law of your own country of residence.
10. Contact
